Saunas have been used for social and therapeutic benefits for thousands of years worldwide, especially in Scandinavian countries.

Each Backcountry Recreation outdoor barrel sauna kit comes with a wood-burning stove or electric heater, water bucket and dipper, wooden heater guard, sauna rocks, and interior seating benches. In under an hour, our high-quality saunas will heat up to temperatures of 195 degrees Fahrenheit so you can enjoy them wet or dry.

HIGH-QUALITY CANADIAN RED CEDAR

We use 100% Canadian Red Cedar for all our cedar barrel saunas because it is the best type of lumber to resist harsh weather and other elements. With proper care, your cedar sauna should last 15-20 years.

CONVENTIONAL SCANDINAVIAN DESIGN

Our Scandinavian barrel saunas are constructed with tongue and groove lumber staves, held tightly together by an interlocking system of stainless steel fasteners and bands. This helps the lumber staves to expand and contract, forming a tight seal naturally. The sauna unit is founded on support cradles that keep it above ground level. Our Scandinavian barrel saunas are easy on the eye, use less energy, and evenly distribute heat throughout the interior.

WOOD-BURNING STOVE ALTERNATIVE FOR OFF-GRID CLIENTS

The Harvia M3 is an advanced wood-burning stove specifically designed to be used in saunas. To install the chimney kit, cut out a circular hole in the roof staves. The chimney kit is not included in the base price. If you purchase it separately, you'll need 6 foot by 6 inch diameter stove piping, interior protective flashing, a chimney collar, and an external rain flange.

Assembly

SIMPLIFIED ASSEMBLY

Building our saunas is a breeze. All of our saunas are designed for the do-it-yourself customer. All the parts come grooved and pre-cut, so no sawing or cutting is necessary.

Anyone with basic woodworking skills can put one together in about 4 hours. The only tools you'll need are a Phillips screwdriver, level, 7/16″ and 9/16″ open-end wrenches, vise grips, 9/16″ deep socket wrench, and a mallet.

The Northwest Territories, Nunavut, The Yukon, and The Maritime Provinces do not qualify for free shipping at this time. For shipping inquiries to The Canadian Territories or The Maritime Provinces, please contact our support team at Support@homvenue.com. We ship our products using curbside delivery. The driver will lower the package to the ground and place it curbside at the end of your driveway. Placement of item on driveway, sidewalk, or in the home and package material removal or unpacking is not provided but is at the discretion of the driver. If you purchase an item that needs installation, we will send you an email with all installation information 24 hours after you place your order.
